You’ve scavenged the last 8-pack of toilet paper for miles around and you have enough food to last until Memorial Day, but what about your pets? Do you have a plan for Fido or Fluffy in the event you test positive for COVID-19 and need to be hospitalized? Think it can’t happen? It actually occurs all the time – with or without a looming health crisis. Take for example last May when my husband and I noticed a Facebook post by Pug Rescue of Florida. They were highlighting pictures of a senior pug whose owner had died quite unexpectedly. With no provisions for his care, 12-year-old Boo Boo was put up for adoption. The good news is that we adopted that feisty ol’ pug who is still with us today. Make sure your beloved pet – whether cat, dog, fish, hamster or snake – will be cared for in the event you are hospitalized. If there’s one thing this pandemic has shown us is that you can’t be too prepared. ~ Mindy Parsons
