This site was built on the idea of Dr. Mindy Parsons who was looking for a way to not only give back, but to offer support to those who are frightened and overwhelmed by the current restrictions on activities and fears surrounding COVID-19. Many of the people she knows and works with were struggling to come to terms with the new realities that came with the COVID-19 pandemic. As a mental health professional, her daily work brings her in contact with people struggling with anxiety, fears, depression and other overwhelming emotions. However, quarantining huge segments of the population was a different scenario altogether and many of us are still grasping at trying to understand the magnitude of impact from this virus — economically, socially and emotionally. As a means of helping more people, she created this site and asked her friends and colleagues to contribute and they graciously agreed. As true helping professionals, they are giving of their time and knowledge by writing articles meant to alleviate some of the fears, offer valuable information and find ways to cope so that we can all emerge from this stronger than before.
